Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to)About this role:
This executive leader guides and manages L&A’s largest project, supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory, as part of L&A’s role as an integrated team subcontractor to LANL M&O contractor Triad National Security, LLC. As Triad’s partner, L&A makes meaningful contributions to LANL’s success in mission assurance, operations and project delivery. In this highly visible and empowered position, the Senior PM leads our talented LANL team and performs significant strategic, financial and human capital functions that directly impact company and client success.
Under the general direction of the L&A Chief Operating Officer, our Senior PM leverages relationships at LANL and a broad understanding of the LANL missions to lead and grow L&A’s portfolio and manage the project workforce and team in our corporate Los Alamos office.
This is a highly incentivized, full time position with potential for promotion to Vice President.
Roles and responsibilities:
While working in a team environment, supported by L&A Chief Operating Officer and other L&A senior managers, our Senior PM:
Governance/Contract Administration:- Ensures implementation of L&A Values and strategic initiatives in all L&A activities in support of LANL
- Performs subcontract administration activities, including oversight of L&A’s subcontracts and performers and review of L&A invoices related to LANL M&O
- Manages L&A projects and tasks for Triad National Security, LLC (Triad)
- Works synergistically with L&A Business Operations and Recruiting, as needed, for optimal execution of L&A tasks and projects at LANL
- Provides key market intelligence Los Alamos opportunities and industry matters
- Supports L&A corporate initiatives, as needed, including business development, marketing, management and participation in EFCOG, etc.
- Coordinates and communicates regularly with L&A employees and management, including routine (at least monthly) meetings with the L&A’s Los Alamos Cleanup Contractor (LLCC) Program Manager and L&A leaders with management purview over L&A personnel support LANL/Triad.
- Leads L&A’s Los Alamos corporate office by mentoring and motivating, maintaining an environment of teammate support with key processes that enable the growth of L&A business.
- Supports and manages LANL deployed personnel to ensure company alliance and well-being, that leads to high performance and delivery of quality products and services to LANL.
Client(s):- Establishes and maintains productive working relationships across the breadth of the LANL Triad organization to understand and align to LANL strategic priorities and operational needs
- Engages with LANL leadership and personnel to 1) broadcast L&A’s integrated teaming subcontractor role and core capabilities, and 2) identify and promote specific support activities through which L&A can meaningfully support LANL mission and goals
- Understands and learns LANL’s systems/processes and conduct of business to target and secure additional opportunities and tasks to be included within L&A’s subcontract with Triad
- Provides expert technical support, as an individual performer, to LANL
Partner/Neighbor:- Works effectively with L&A teaming partners, proteges and other industry members within the LANL and NNSA supply chain. Lead interactions with other commercial firms supporting LANL and/or performing in the region
- Serves as L&A’s local business development lead to identify opportunities and prepare proposals to expand L&A business in Los Alamos
- Represents L&A at local business and community events to demonstrate L&A commitment to the Los Alamos community, promote and raise awareness of L&A capabilities, and foster strategic partnerships with other area businesses.
- Takes on other duties, as needed, to enable client and company success
Our Senior PM must have a strong reputation and established relationships with DOE and industry players at Los Alamos, including both LANL, the community, Pueblos, State and local government organizations, and local industry. In performance of these program management and business development roles, it is critical potential and perceived organizational conflicts of interest are identified and avoided, through close communication with L&A senior management.
Required Knowledge & Skills:- Extensive knowledge of DOE/NNSA programs and projects at Los Alamos
- Extensive understanding of LANL missions and organization, including strong relationships with existing LANL personnel
- Strong established relationships with local contractor community, community leaders and DOE personnel.
- Ability to work with L&A project managers, performers and clients to lead and execute L&A activities and projects.
- Ability to work effectively with deployed L&A project managers, to align goals, ensure project quality and ensure that project goals to be met or exceeded.
- Must be adept at problem solving and finding/fixing problems early by working with clients, L&A staff, L&A corporate resources
- Exceptional communication skills and public relations capabilities.
- Commitment to L&A values and ability to represent L&A in a highly effective manner in interactions with DOE and other clients.
- Ability to monitor and analyze project performance and provide L&A senior management reliable data and recommendations regarding project status, risks and opportunities.
- Ability to provide expert advice and support to L&A’s existing projects and planned pursuits at LANL.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and communicate across project controls and business disciplines.
- Ability to effectively lead and manage diverse and geographically distributed staff and projects.
- Proficiency in program and project management.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:- BA or BS in engineering, scientific, business or management discipline and at least 10 years of successful experience at Los Alamos.
- Strong management and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience and success in business development and project delivery.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with industry and diverse client base and stakeholders.
