POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Mobile Packaging Program is seeking to create a “Senior Advisor” role to assist NA-23 Program Managers. This individual should be exceptionally knowledgeable regarding DOE and NNSA Programs; exceptionally knowledgeable about material packaging and non-proliferation in crisis operations; and have an excellent understanding of NNSA collaboration with the Department of War (Defense).
Key duties include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Act as cross-cutting coordinator for the design and planning of small and large program exercises. This duty would require close collaboration with each of the labs, plants and sites, with a senior role in these events.
- Advise the program managers on emerging technologies and trends within the U.S. government and in industry, including how these issues may potentially impact the program mission.
- Develop draft policy or position papers on program scope and efforts.
- Assist the program managers with strategic planning, including meetings with interagency and foreign partners to discuss program issues.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, Science or Business Management. MS/MA degree considered a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Twenty-five (25) years, with extensive experience in the management of engineering and energy related industries.
· Directly applicable experience in interfacing with corporate directors, external oversight review groups, and government and industry executives.
· Consults on engineering and technical issues and complex problem solving.
· Provides technical assessment services on major projects and programs targeted at the executive and senior management levels.
· Matches client capabilities with strategic program and project goals.
· Establishes clear achievable technical solutions, outcomes, measurements, budgets, timelines, and evaluation methods.
· Develops relationships at executive levels in the client organization to effectively develop and execute proposals and technical objectives.
· Identifies industry best practices to clients in technical and management areas.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working directly with functional stakeholders, senior management, private industry, national laboratories, and all levels of the organization.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound technical judgment.
· Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
· Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),

LOCATION
- The work location for this position is a combination of onsite and remote work. Remote work is defined as working at an offsite location that is within 1 hour of Savannah River National Laboratory. All work locations are at the discretion of management and the client (NNSA/NA-23). Occasional travel will be required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- An active DOE/NNSA Q-Clearance is required.
