POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provide a Production Control Engineer for Pantex’s Program & Projects Planning group. The principal purpose of this role is to provide functional lead and end user support for the PeopleSoft manufacturing (MRP) software for the Pantex Program and Project Planning Organization. The primary focus of this work is on the development of software enhancements and routine maintenance of the MRP system. Other focus areas include ensuring that the MRP system meets all the requirements of the PXD Software Quality Assurance Program and ensuring maximum uptime for the system to support weapon production schedules.Roles and Responsibilities
Primary responsibility is to provide functional lead and end user support for ERP/MRP systems such as PeopleSoft FSCM-MRP and SAP, utilized to conduct manufacturing operations at Pantex.- Analyze business operations (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, planning, supply chain, etc.) to gather requirements to develop logical processes for meeting the requirements.
- Make recommendations for software and/or business process modifications to enhance all aspects of production operations.
- Document software and system modifications – identify new/modified requirements, construct workflow charts and diagrams, develop mock screenshots, document business processing rules, identify security role requirements, etc.
- Setup detailed positive and negative test cases and conduct software and regression testing (manual and/or automated) for making sure software systems perform as required.
- Create software quality assurance documentation including, but not limited to, test cases, user documentation and training materials for rollout of software changes.
- Maintain software product backlog of defects and enhancements, working with IT programmers and other SMEs to resolve and document resolution of defects or implementation of enhancements
- Provide customer support to resolve user and/or system issues which may include working
with IT programmers to implement SQL data fixes to maintain continuity of operations - Develop new concepts, techniques and standards to improve software and production
operations to facilitate mission delivery, enhance safety, security, quality, and generate cost
efficiencies.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
- Master’s degree plus a minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
- Staff with high school diplomas may be considered on an exceptional basis if they have more years of relevant experience. Typically, each year of college education is equal to two years of experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance.
- Meet the education/work experience requirements listed above.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening,
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience/formal training in business analysis.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP) software experience or ability to develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of the manufacturing software and software testing concepts.
- Familiarity with software testing/automated testing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or SAP
- Familiarity with the usage and development of SQL queries.
- Familiarity with Azure/ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with Agile Project Management.
- Ability to work with personnel at all levels in the organization and across the plant.
- Q-clearance.
