Longenecker & Associates (L&A) seeks a motivated Senior Process/Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our mission supporting our work at

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Conduct construction document reviews as required
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate process/mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup
  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to P&ID development
  • Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems and equipment design
  • Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standards
  • Significant experience providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services on large industrial projects
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
  • Must be a US Citizen. ​​​​​​​

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license
  • Software experience such as: AFT Falthom & Arrow, HYSIM, Bluebeam, PALS, Navisworks, etc. 
  • Code experience such as: API Section VIII, ANSI, ISA, and NFPA. 
  • EPC project experience for the following industries:
    • U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agency
    • Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program
    • Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology

LOCATION
Position will be on-site in Greenville, SC with occasional travel to Aiken, SC as needed.

Work Hours:
Ability to work 50 hour weeks is required for this role.
