Longenecker & Associates (L&A) is seeking an RCRA Lead. This position will lead the Environmental Management System and Sustainability programs for UCOR in Oak Ridge, TN.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead RCRA permit actions that includes: permit applications, permit modifications, and permit required reporting (i.e., RCRA annual report).
  • Provide environmental compliance support to projects.
  • Ensure implementation of waste regulations throughout the projects.
  • Provide regulatory guidance in support of waste characterization and waste disposition.
  • Prepare for and escort TDEC and EPA during RCRA inspections of operations.
  • Provide oversight support to the projects in accordance with DOE Order 435.1.
  • Provide support for the solid waste generator program in accordance with solid waste regulations.
  • Provide support for waste characterization and disposition.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of waste management and inspection records.
  • Review shipping documents in support of RCRA and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) annual reporting and inspections.
  • Conduct walkdowns of project areas for hazardous and universal waste compliance
 
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Related Field (Engineering, Environmental Science) from an accredited school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience required.
  • Experience with DOE preferred
  • Able to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training
  • Highly-effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, requiring limited direction
  • Experience with waste characterization, storage, packaging
  • Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in working with State and Federal regulators
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
